Can't you fill it with all the various sports travel uniforms he has?

Those things are really light.

Seriously, I thought it would be some homogenous fill I’d pick up locally. Those memory foam mattresses are fairly heavy.

It is the expectations and crushed dreams that weigh heaviest.

My boy is very good...but really it’s all for nothing with soccer. Play on your jr high and high school team...big whoop.

Maybe kicking a football will work out differently for him.

If he’s actually any good he needs to be on a travel team. That’s where the opportunities are. Most of them won’t let him play for his school though.

Denim works the best. You have to be really careful to pack everything in there really good, and eliminate air pockets. You will have to use a broom handle to tamp everything down after you put in any new pieces. To properly fill the bag to eliminate sagging, or empty spots, takes a lot of time and patience.

I just don’t see there’re any worth a shite around here. I try. No way to not play for his school though, that would be insane. He’s going to an all boys school from 7th-12th grade, it’s pretty much all about school athletics. Soccer has won state 4 of the last 5 years.

I've never heard of a punching bag filled with clothes. They'd have to be packed in there pretty tight. Sounds like a pain.

You probably will not need sand in the middle if it is done right.

It is a absolute pain. It takes a lot of time. What really sucks, is by the time you get towards the top, you are really tired of messing with it. Then you get lazy, and arent as concerned with getting it right. However, that is where most of the contact with the bag will be, so it needs the most attention.

Stay focused...or, take it back and pay the shipping for a filled bag.

Is your son playing select boxing or travel Ball boxing? They use a different sand ratio than rec league boxing.

Lop off the head, arms, and legs and that ought to be about right.

Depends on the state I guess. Here in FL high school soccer is mostly for kids who couldn’t make it on the big academy or club teams so it’s a lower level. But still probably higher than most states.

It’s just not dense here, I drove my son 1.5 hr to practice last night, Sunday’s is about that. There’s just no ‘real’ travel squads that can make a dent out of state.

His best chance now is to make regional ODP team, but we know the only MS kid who made it last year and he’s a little wizard. We’ll see.
