THIS. There was easily 2-3 fights per game in the TS student section in the mid 80's. At least one was frat vs frat with ten plus guys involved, usually right after halftime. I am not exaggerating. This was every single football game.
As a kid, I sat in south end zone for 1-2 games a year. Most games, there was a fight in the stands or ramp area.
The Summit in Houston at the 1980 regional finals, a couple of old arse dudes from LSU went at it with two twenty something Louisville fans at a concession stand. All involved stayed in line to get their nachos before heading back to their seats.
I can honestly say, I've been to 3-4 times as many sporting events with a fight than without.

That doesn’t even sound like TS student section these days. Or LSU fans. I don’t think I’ve seen a fight at Tiger Stadium. There was one time I was a pledge and the actives around me got to talking and I got stuck basically walking into a KO. These dudes were huge but I was a pledge and it wouldn’t have been too loyal to anyone if I bitched out. Thank God someone grabbed him and we walked the other way.

Kinda my point. 99% of all fights in public these days make it onto social media. Anyone with any sense knows this so you are left with a few idiots without any sense who look up from their phones long enough to mouth off to some other idiot who has looked up from his phone for a few seconds and one of them gets their arse kicked on YouTube. A few of these at 500K views each and some hashtags and you get a really warped perception of reality.
