Alexandria is possibly the worst city in Louisiana. I had a job that was so desperate for someone to move there that they offered me a pair move, promotion and authority to run the office any way I wanted and I still turned them down. Ended up having to drive there and back twice a week and that was still better than moving.

You gotta watch it on Texas, where you have a yard and private party. Say what you want, but the Alex parade is pretty fun if you have a good set up.

The BSL parade today should be good. It helps they run it through Old Town instead of on Hwy 90.

I live in the city of Alexandria, nice quiet subdivision. The schools at pretty solid, and there are plenty of places to eat and shop. But yeah we avoid most parades or anything that's free to the public.
It's a good place to work and raise a family, other than that though, it can be boring and all the nightlife is trashy.
