California Lays Out Plan To Slowly Reopen
quote:LINK
Before reopening, areas in the state will need to think about their ability to test everyone who is symptomatic, protect vulnerable populations, prepare the health system for another surge, support the development of therapeutic treatments, determine how they can physically redraw floor plans to ensure people can stay at least six feet away from each other and have the ability to tighten the rules again in the case of another surge.
If and when localities do begin to ease social distancing restrictions, Newsom hinted at what daily life may look like: restaurants may operate with fewer tables, waiters may wear gloves and offer disposable menus, businesses may check the temperature of anyone entering the building and schools may stagger times students come in when the school year starts in the fall.

most places would be more enjoyable with this.

If most cases are asymptomatic how will temp checks do anything?

If it's not a bar or tavern, I would gladly pay 25% more base cost for a less crowded environment and better service.

So there will be a huge herd of people waiting at the entrance of the restaurant for a table to open? Sounds like a great idea, let's put the temp check right in the exact same place.

Do we know it's most? Last I heard it was 20-25% asymptomatic, which is far less than most.

We are doing temperature checks at my work now. Step up to the nurse stationed outside plant and she takes your temperature. If you are under a 100 degrees you go to work if you are over you go home.

Which is totally ineffective at catching asymptomatic carriers, which is the reason most of this is just a bunch of empty nonsense meant to placate the stupid and anxious.

I read brussels has tested 33% of the population and over 50% that test positive showed no symptoms.

Amen. Went to a place in Houston a few months ago where one extra table was squeezed into an oddly shaped space and pushed completely against the next table. So we essentially sat at a 4-top with a random couple
Just book one less table at a time! Drives me crazy.

Temp checks are stupid.
But reducing capacity is what I figured would happen.
