Bingo. The men are more disappointing IMO.
There will always be excuses for those not willing or not capable of raising children.

Don’t think it works quite that way

Men’s material possessions are part of what advertises their worth to be a mate

Without absolving men of blame for their own actions, men following their base natures cannot be expected to act in ways that lead to stable families, child-rearing, etc.

Society has to be set up to penalize men for not protecting and providing for their women and offspring.

Current day America shows what happens when society isn’t set up that way, and we are just getting started.

We are still living on the momentum of thousands of years of cultural development in the West.

The point being, it doesn’t make sense to blame men in general for being selfish. Women have to make men settle down. They have a very effective tool for this.

If you want to attract shitty females, sure.

Find them with the ability to be self sufficient and they dont need to be materialistic.

This is stupid. Only shallow males and females worry about possessions. No wonder the world is fricked up.

but the problem seems to be that both the men and women are selfish - so there are no more kids.

I’m not blaming men totally - but I do know sone men that want their wives to work so they can get even more stuff - some couples only had 1 kid bc the couples wanted more stuff, etc.

Materialism is a major problem - but the women who are materialistic is the biggest problem.

This thread is good for the most part but you've got some of the usual suspects coming in with the "bro just walk in there, shake the boss' hand and tell him you want a job" mindset. Any kind of numbers are just made up millennial mumbo jumbo to them. Just manage a 3/2 house with 3 kids on your single income salary and high school diploma bro

Absolutely. Anyone excusing men in this situation is dumb.

Normal humans worry about responsible partners. They will do whats necessary to help.

Shallow, insecure people seek out possessions as a sign of being a good parent.

The worst part of that mindset is that the workforce seems loaded with these people, now in their late 60s (who rode crazy stock market gains to high personal wealth, who will have social security but themselves didn’t produce enough productive children to maintain social security, etc etc) cashing huge paychecks they don’t really need while denying raises to people still trying to raise or start a family during insane inflation.

This thread is full of people who don’t feel bad at all about choosing personal wealth and freedom over producing offspring. That’s a new thing for humanity.

Materialism creates behavioral vacuum activity and detaches meaning from life.

Younger people always try to blame how expensive it is to raise kids, but like someone mentioned. It was always expensive, but people just have no taste for reducing their luxuries.

it has always been expensive, it is just more expensive now

Remember when people said, "Man, kids are cheap!"

No, no one does.

Govt upped rates they pay and over regulation has caused day care to spiral out of control.

I paid more than that locally in 1996.

Do you want me to trend Mercedes prices to show their increase?

Then argue that Mercedes used to be cheap.

If you meet a good person, you'll not be selfish. There is not much sense in marriage without kids.
