FEMA flood insurance is govt subsidized insurance that encourages risk and inflates home prices in flood prone areas.
Libs are not against giving FEMA more money yet half the posts allude to that. There is typically bipartisan support for disaster relief, though SWLA was screwed by delayed and inadequate federal relief following Laura and Delta.

And nevermind that it is our tax money that funds it all. Yet, when Americans had literally lost everything they owned they were told to frick off unless the other "side" agreed to give more than FOUR TIMES the amount of money to Ukraine. FEMA said it needed $6 billion for the Maui fire relief. The Biden administration told them to go to Hell unless Congress passed a $24.1 billion Ukraine aide package. No bullshite, the money that Americans who had lost everything, despite giving billions of dollars to the Fed every fricking year, would not be given to them unless our slimy fricking president and his party got quadruple the amount to give to another country.

If a disaster happens, they go thru congress for emergency money, but attach it to an agenda they want..ex..100 million for hurricane X relief, attached to a stimulus bill for Y.
