I just don't get that mindset. You don't get married solely to have kids. You do out of love and a want to spend the rest of your life with that person first and foremost. Kids are just a byproduct of that love and a biological wiring for procreation.

I fully support your decision to go extinct, unless you're one of the few middle-class, educated people out there. If that's the case, I think you're shirking your duty to help the future look less like India.

One of my former nurse coworkers goes all over the world with her young child.

He wasn't even a year old when they went off to I think Thailand or Vietnam it was for a few weeks.
Hell...they brought him as a toddler to freaking Burning Man of all places. Posting pics of his dusty little self just in a diaper with goggles on

Her and her husband are a little too hippy-dippy for my own taste...but I bet their child is pretty well behaved when traveling.

it's a good feeling to not have any of those responsibilities, but you know what...it feels awesome being a parent.

yep, your sleep will go to shite for a few years, you'll barely have time for your friends, happy hours are few and far between and even those get cut very short. vacations are centered around the kids, mostly during the summer time, and the destinations will be about them.

traveling can be a pain in the arse - plenty of stops if you drive, and crying babies and restlessness if you fly.

dinner can sometimes be a hassle, your workout schedule will probably be affected by it, thereby leading to a dad bod, your patience with your significant other will run thin, and you'll have an argument or two about whos supposed to be doing what.

you'll have to save those sick days for when they get that annoying ear infection, and let's not forget the excruciatingly annoying eczema and allergies.

daycare is a money pit, but no choice there.

but man, i've been ok with all that. 2 kids in a little less than 3 years, and i think we're doing ok.

but of course, it is ok if you choose not to, some people just want to enjoy their lives on their own with whomever they want to.

Why would you need a sitter to travel? Our 11 month old has traveled more than some adults.

One day, when you grow up, you will find joy in your child's accomplishments.

It’s gonna be funny when you’re old and die from infected bed sores because nobody cares about you

To be fair though, that could still happen even if you have kids.
