Right now Popeyes has 5 pieces for 6.99

So you could get about 15 pieces for $20

That should fill up a family of 4 and give them diarrhea for a few days

Red beans, rice, cornbread.

Will probably have to forego the cornbread by next month though to keep with inflation.

Why would fried chicken give people diarrhea? They should see a doctor

Pasta is the easiest answer. Leg quarters and whatever you have in the fridge

I’ve eaten Popeyes hundreds of times. So have my friends. No cases of diarrhea to report.

Season to families liking
Salt and pepper
No salt butter under skin on meat and coat skin

Cut 1/2 to cook faster one side skin and other inside cavity cut in 1/2
Heat grill 500 with black skillet

Then rice you do a wild rice I estimate $2.00 and cook

Then do gravy from dropping of chicken White wine and shallot as gives off more flavor than an onion.
Put some corn starch or flower to thicken or chicken stock.

Does it count if I already always have the seasonings in my pantry?

Pork chops. Cut in to cutlets. Mix seasoning I make of salt, black pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and ground mustard.
Season pork bites. Cook in a pan. Once cooked take pork bites out. brown Fine cut garlic cloves in butter. Put some lemon on fresh green beans. Put teen beans in pan. Mix pork bites in to pan.

If seasoning in pantry doesn’t count, use some preferred Cajun seasoning.
Pork $8-10. Beans $2-3. Garlic $2-3. Butter $3.

Can we shop on sale or are we buying at the store right now?

Whole chicken. Dry brine with Tony's the night before. Smoke until the thigh reads 165. Cajun smoked chicken. $6-10.

You can also keep a pan under the chicken to catch drippings for gravy for rice.

Salad with a head of iceberg with bell peppers and dressing of choice. $2.50

Frozen cut green beans cooked to preference to finish off the meal. $2

Easily under $20 and healthy (high protein, low carb, non-processed) to boot. Just takes the effort in cooking.

If spices at home:

Smoked sausage, butter, milk, shredded cheddar cheese, and Weisenberger grits. An onion if I have enough left over.

Sauté sausage and onions in butter with some garlic powder and smoked paprika. Cook grits. Add cheddar cheese.
