Lakeside really is an anomaly. Might be one of the last malls standing when it’s all said and done
I said this exact thing as I was trying to park.
It's amazing really.

That's very common at Lakeside Mall.

Bookmarked.
I'll be back to revisit this with you in July or August.

JPSO don’t frick around. Some of these fools think this is Nola.
This is why I want a metropolitan police force headquartered in Jefferson. It would be fascinating to watch what would happen in Orleans.

I went somewhere today I haven’t been in a while. Lakeside Mall. And finding a parking spot wasn’t easy. The place was packed. People everywhere the eye could see. And not just dumbasses walking about bullshitting empty handed. No, the dumbasses had bags of merchandise, lots of it.
To be fair, Lakeside is the only decent shopping mall in the region. Esplanade is pretty much shut down, Clearview mall is just a glorified strip mall in a construction zone with a Target, and Oakwood you need a bullet proof vest or pack your own heat to feel safe.

I believe it. Driving around town today and I’ve never seen restaurants this full before

People are obviously not worried.

Or maybe it was Mother’s Day, the busiest restaurant day of the year

They are very smart in running it. Ever since I was a kid in the 80's and 90's, they constantly performed renovations and improvements. They did a major renovation within the past 5 years. People want the feel good experience when shopping, and Lakeside provides that. They also diversified by adding several sit down restaurants, Starbucks inside the mall and a stand alone facility outside, Bra Genie outside of the mall, etc. They are now building a fancy store for Lee Michaels. THe food court has abundant choices. The perceived safety is high, as they have proper security patrolling the lots and mall.
The malls that met their demise did not renovate or update their property, had crappy tenants, or they cheaped out and half assed on renovations.
The location of Lakeside is huge.
I read an article when Macy's was opening that it was one of if not the top revenue grossing mall in the country per capita. Hence why Macy's built a store there.
I enjoy going there.

There were at least 60 people in line at the Gucci store in the galleria today.

I see More people quitting work or going parttime waiting for the government to take care of them.
