I always thought it was pretty clear self defense.
Some people decide how they feel about an issue before they look at a shred of evidence, and this was definitely one of those things for a lot of left-leaning folks I know.

In his situation and in most trials the punishment isn't prison. It is the "justice" process. Imagine how much lawyers etc costs. How much time of his life it'll take. How hard it'll be to get a job after. etc etc.

You would use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), if you have an apple Garage Band would work. With a PC, Audacity is free. You'd load up the backing track on one track and then set another track to record vocals.
