What policies should be considered if any to minimize these occurrences?

As I said a determined person will find a way to obtain a weapon if they can not do so legally. But does that mean therefore all legislated impediments are pointless? If criminals will act illegally despite the law what is the need for most laws?

What do you mean the loophole doesn't exist?
it's a talking point made by people who don't buy guns that often
can you define the loophole without googling?

you mean how to stop random outliers from doing random acts of outlier behavior? it's impossible
the best step is to make it illegal for news agencies to report on the crimes to remove the notoriety incentive
the best step to help terrorism is to outlaw the practice of islam
you ok with those? if not, why?

Tell that to the gun show vendor who sold me an AK-47 after handing him 5 $100 bills. No paperwork.
It's very simple - he wasn't a FFL holder. That transaction is not regulated. It doesn't matter where the transaction takes place. The status of the seller is all that matters.
There...is...no...gun...show...loophole. That is a red herring to justify regulating private firearm transactions.

You likely bought a gun from a private individual who happened to be at a gun show. This same person could have appeared at your house, met you at a mall, met at Starbucks, etc.
An FFL dealer cannot legally make a transfer without a background check.

I am ignorant to this but how does gun control affect those citizens who have every right to purchase guns? I understand it wouldn't work in every instance but for the life of me I can't understand why people are so opposed to some sort of policy to attempt to keep the wrong people from getting guns.
I think it is just one of those topics that has become so politicized that people support it or oppose it based on what "team" they are on politically.

For the person that will consider acting illegally regardless of law, a deterrent.
For the person that chooses to act illegally regardless of law, a punishment.

Please explain to me why it doesn't exist. I'm here asking questions stating some of my opinions, trying to be more informed and have a rational discussion. And this is the response? This is one of the major problems with this board it is so for right wing that if you'd state a moderate opinion you are blasted for being a crazy liberal.

He had a booth and a hundred other guns for sale. I didn't ask for his FFL # and he didn't ask for my ID. That's all I know.

There are thousands of laws on the books. I'm not opposed to every single one of them.
What do you think we're opposing?

Yep.

I bought a RRA LAR-15 at a gunshow, 4473 filled out for it. You aren't very good at this are you?

Magazines aren't firearms. They don't even have serial numbers. I'm sure you think you are making a point here but really you are just looking incompetent.

There are already PLENTY of these.
They don't eliminate terrorism.
But people want MORE policies? I can't understand this, for the life of me.
Posted on 12/3/15 at 8:23 am to bigberg2000
Because the Constitution affords citizens the right to keep and bear arms. And gun control measures don't work.
Posted on 12/3/15 at 8:24 am to fouldeliverer
the "wrong people" being so malleable is a bad concept/policy. that's the issue
why did you avoid my questions in my last post to you?

It's clear they're going to go with the workplace violence/gun control solution until that is no longer tenable.

So your policies to reduce the number of mass shootings is to limit the freedom of speech and freedom of religion? It seems mighty incongruous that in your mind stricter gun control is unnecessary and tyrannical but this is your proposal?

Those policies are in place already.
Define wrong in your opinion?
