Aww frick, my bad guys, I thought I heard the government passed a bunch of BS laws and did some shite to confiscate some of that land from them.

As for the standing up part, I meant that as in forming a militia like the boys did back in the day, not these pussy arse SJW and BLM protestors.

Did they confiscate the bag of gummy dicks, or had they already eaten them? I heard they were running low on snacks.

Odd that nothing has been released on the how or why of the shooting. Kind of curious how it went down.

The Bundy's aren't very well supported by the General population. Their method of drawing attention to their plight is either. On this occasion they went to Oregon in support of some other ranchers who it seem had a pretty good argument against the Feds.

Neither did the Branch Davidians or Weavers.

Only one? Too bad. If they could kill all of them it just might make other PsOS mindfull of their behavior.

Man, that doesn't sound nearly as fun as the sanctimonious outrage and celebration of death in this thread. Downvote.

FBI and law enforcement have blocked all the roads to the area now. Some of the occupiers have said they are staying. I wonder what caused LE's decision to escalate their actions?

Apparently it is the fact that the vast majority of the local population want them to GTFO. LE is obliging.

Its allegedly costing Oregon $100k per week to deal with this. I'm sure that played into escalating it as well.

How so?

I am seriously asking because from what I understand the land in question has been owned by the Government since before Oregon was even a state and the rest was sold to the feds by private land owners years ago. No one trying to claim this land has any ties to it such as family members passing it down nor did they purchase it. To me, it looks more like they tried to claim it through adverse possession and the feds have simply proven over and over that they are the rightful owners of record.

If I am missing something then please let me know.

Yea it's kinda dumb to compare the two. One group occupied an abandoned building. The other group shut down major cities and destroyed millions of dollars in private property

You'd end up with another Waco or Ruby Ridge

Hadn't they been letting them freely go to town? Why not arrest them one by one there? Cut off their power and make them surrender, instead of going in all gung ho.

Was this actually escalating or they just took the opportunity to grab them in a road block.

Sounds like somebody pulled a gun out and got popped.

They didn't go in gung ho. They set up a roadblock and took them as peaceful as possible. Only one dying is surprising considering.

Cutting power isn't going to do much when you have idiots like this in there

quote:

Ritzheimer’s close friend, Blaine Cooper, apparently vowed to a talk radio host close to the militants — Pete Santilli — that he would not be taken alive.

Also, cutting power and letting these idiots freeze to death would make them martyrs which they are trying to avoid.
