At one time GT illegally moved their city limit sign south of town to write tickets. It was moved back when they got called on it so I say fukem.
Several of their officers have also been arrested for drugs and domestics.

Mais, now we gettin to some good names cher.
My mother was from Ville Platte. I spent a lot of time there as a kid at my grandmothers house off of Highland, not far from Champagnes. If not there, we were visiting my aunt on the other side of town who lived on Scenic.
The place has gone down a lot from when I was a kid. As an 8 year old, I would walk from my grandmother's house to Eckerd's and get a comic book and a coke. Then I would walk back to my grandmothers house and go play outside in her back yard. It was only 3 blocks but I wouldn't let an 8 year old walk that distance today to that same location by themselves.
Over at my aunt's house on scenic, thieves stole my uncle's truck 3 times in the last 5 years. All 3 times they found it abandoned somewhere outside of town. That was something you did not have to worry about when I was younger.

It’s pretty heart breaking to see a town you grew up loving with your roots solidly in turn into a shell of itself like Ville Platte has. Even worse that you have to move pretty far away for something halfway decent.

If cooper-Cameron ever closes you can turn out the lights in Evangeline parish. It will become another Bastrop La.

I know the speed trap reputation back in the day. You got a link to the drug trafficking thing? Is that recent?

Will be interesting to see what they say at the press conference tomorrow. I wonder if the Oakdale PC and the Forest Hill PC were working together

I heard the chiefs got paid big money for signatures on illegals. That's all I'm saying
It’s a scheme to launder federal grant money. It’s a big fricking investigation and going to be a big net cast. Like I said earlier the arrest are just getting started.

Think it’s connected to a similar raid that went down today in Alabama?

If we are talking per capita, I would say there is likely a smaller city or town that is more corrupt. The spotlight isn't on them and the shite that goes on is crazy. The parish I am from, when they still had a police jury instead of a parish president, councilmen used to get parts of their new houses build on the tax payers dime.
There were other elected officials who would get any appliance they needed for their personal life.. Dishwashers, TVs, lawnmowers, etc all paid for by the public. And they were able to do it because everyone was doing it. It was the wild wild west and I am sure there are some places were that is still how business is done.

No shite? I did not know that. He catered a family reunion for us once. He seemed like a real nice guy
Barry Giglio was serving a warrant for the Ville Platte City Marshalls office. The bad guy shot through the door/wall and struck Barry in the arm hole of his bullet-proof vest.

Similar situation happened about a year or two ago on the state level with Department of wildlife and fisheries where the secretary got a side-by-side and some other things for being involved in an under the table business deal.
