Not being insensitive here, but how did they get into school if they have intellectual disabilities?
It’s a special program that doesn’t require the GPA or test scores that are required for “regular” students. These intellectually disabled students do not receive a bachelor’s degree upon graduation. It’s similar to the way SPED kids attend high school and get a certificate (not a diploma) at graduation except this program is at the college level. South Alabama has a similar program also. A friend’s son who has Down syndrome is in the program at USA. It’s a great thing for those kids.
FAQ about ACCESS

Yes. MS is the poorest state, but they still pay an average of $8,100 in taxes

I wonder if this $8100 figure includes sales tax and other non-income taxes. Even so, that seems high.

It’s MSU, duh.
Jokes aside ACCESS is a separate program administered through State. It’s not considered traditional enrollment. It really is a good program.

Illegal for who? Was Brett still a member of the Packers/Vikings/Jets?
Yeah he was still playing so he was not supposed to host the tourny at a casino owned course.

Not sure if I'm errantly merging the two Brett Favre/MS Public Fund scandals or if they are entirely seperate?
Favre's public appearances were paid from that fund. I think initially it was seperate but it all looks to be related now.

In case you didn’t hear, they all plead guilty in exchange for plea deal and deal to cooperate.
Interestingly, and the exact same time Brett Farve and Phil Bryant’s assholes really puckered up as they got those calls from their attorneys.
I seriously doubt Farve will become a target but if i were advising him and would recommend he volunteer to come forward with everything.
Phil Bryant needs to lawyer up.

Favre is true white trash that can throw a football well. When white trash gets money, things get dirty.
I have a couple of friends that grew up and still live in Hattiesburg and they tell me he is really a douche bag

Sounds like the stories I heard when I went to Hattiesburg while he was still in the pros.
Most of them involved him being drunk and literally pissing on the bar.

I've never heard of anyone who's met Brett Favre and came away saying "Gee what a swell guy"... and I'm from Hancock County

State of Mississippi just sued Brett, Ted Debaise etc

I always give athletes the benefit of the doubt and I used to be a fan of Farve, but I think it has become obvious since he was at Minnesota that he is a piece of shite.

When will we all admit no matter the party affiliation, misappropriation and outright grift is and always will be the goals of career politicians?
It should be no shock to anyone here how people in power campaign and secure votes using a platform like welfare (pro and con social services). Each side will always engineer a way to steer money into their pockets, the pockets of influential constituents or both.
100%
And when will people admit that welfare isn't just to help the poor. If welfare no longer existed how many grocery stores and convenient stores would shut down?
And you hit the nail on the head. You need money to feed the horses that that pull the wagon.
