Uglesich’s

Yes, a thousand times, yes. It was the BEST food in New Orleans . The top chefs in the city would go and eat there on their day off. Mr. Anthony(Uglesich) was a genius with food.

I also miss Tony Angellos

Charlie's Half Moon on Harrison near West End...the Full Moon was a sinful sandwich

Never knew how they got the order to you. Go up to the window and order, you did not get a number or anything like that, but somehow the server knew.

Someone brought up Pedigo's

I grew up with Don's son Donald Ray Pedigo. Great family. Donald Ray does have a place in Walker and the steaks are still really good! It is still called Pedigo's.

Mr. Gaddy's in Thibodaux. It's a bar now so it's not a lose-lose.

Also, the sizzler in Thibodaux, though I was grown when it burned.

Scatterbars in Houma.

In Lake Chuck. El Rio. Old style Mexican food in the 1950's through about 1975.

The owner was Joe Urdiales, who's descendants now own El Rio Grande on Airline Hwy and Mestizo on Acadian Thruway.
