Breckenridge, Co. in the 70's Christmas time twice! Absolutely beautiful.
Bryson City, NC recently. Early Summer twice, also. Quaint town in the Smokey Mountains- beautiful views and zip lines to see it from!

Zermatt, Switzerland.
That was a beautiful town, and the old church was interesting to visit. Switzerland is loaded with cozy little towns like Zermatt, and France is too along the drive from Sierre, Switzerland to St. Jean de Maurienne, France, over the Alps.

Basalt where the frying pan enters the roaring fork is very nice. But I’d rather stay in aspen and drive down to fish.

Ouray, Colorado. Now that's a mountain town.

A nice place that hasn't been mentioned: Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria.
This thread is reminding me to go to Red Lodge and southwest Montana again.

Across the divide, there's a couple of really cool towns on the Kootenay side. There's three National Parks in that area, including Canadas Glacier NP.

Lots if good ones listed. I’ll add Creede Co. - one of the last untouched areas of CO by the developers.

quote:Yes, it is a nice old church. And if the locals want to see the Matterhorn from Zermatt they say they are going to see if the "mountain is out". That means they want to see if the view is clear or whether it is obscured by clouds. The best view of the Matterhorn from the Town of Zermatt is from the front porch of the church.
the old church was interesting to visit
