But do you really want the money guys making the counter-argument when the stakes are literally extinction? We fricking lucked out that this wasn’t a bubonic plague or Spanish Flu because those happened in a pre-airplane world. Either of those comes today, and we’re fricking done. Quickly.

This is absurd. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Spanish flu would be bad today, but certainly nowhere near an extinction level event. Increased globalization would be somewhat offset by over a century of medical advances. Also, spanish flu coincided with the end of WW1 which undoubtedly contributed to the spread.

The plague wasn't even a virus and would be irrelevant today.

well, Mr. Tony, the only way to find out the vaccine's effectiveness is for people who have taken the vaccine to take off their masks...

regardless masks don't seem to work

because cases are up and everyone is masking...

so he needs to retire, shut up, and confess his sins

Thank God for Fauci or we’d have many more deaths. It’s obvious that Trump doesn’t give a crap about the American people. He’s done nothing from the start.

Good thing we have vaccines.

TB killed more people last year. Let that sink in.

The man literally said masks were ineffective as a medical professional, which was a lie, because he didn’t trust the public to not make a bank run on medical supplies if he had told the truth. He should have left the decision on whether or not to give out that information up to an elected politician that is beholden to the public, not betray the trust of the American people.

That was an extremely damaging and unethical action for a man representing the scientific community to the public and he deserves the scorn of the American people, not the respect of them.

Maybe. I don’t claim to be an expert on everything, and I’m not a scientist/epidemiologist/virologist. Therefore, I should be nowhere near the table when policy decisions are being made around a pandemic.

But that kind of bolsters my argument. A lot of people in this thread are not experts and they’re shitting on the people who are. I actually don’t know the answer here, and I’m not here to shove my uninformed opinion on this down everyone’s throat. I’m here for discussion. Some people have tossed out some interesting thoughts, but none of them have really countered why the narrative here is that the scientists all screwed the pooch or that we’re in the midst of an NWO cabal-style takeover.

Heslargely responsible for the virus still spiking.

If he had his way, this virus would hang around forever.

Why did the strictest states, cities end up having a second spike?

Fauci is a Physician.
He has a degree in Classics.
Then medical school.
He's not a scientist!

I like how often you call people snowflakes because of how much it pisses you off that it’s synonymous with your movement.

That would absolutely make me want to rush out and have something injected in me that might not even work

Biden has already said Rick Bright is going to be on his Covid team. Bright is the jagbag "whistleblower" that for about 12 hours was going to be the next impeachment catalyst. Then even Rachel Maddow could barely make a mountain of that molehill and he slipped into oblivion.

frick

THAT.

In all sincerity, frick THAT.

He wants me to keep wearing masks and staying away from people to protect me from a disease I already have a 98 PERCENT CHANCE of surviving AFTER getting a vaccine that is ITSELF 90+ percent effective.

That guy is out of his damned mind.

Oh, and frick THAT.

What about next time?
This will not be the last Cv or swine flu to circumvent the globe, nor was it the first
Are we going to have to do this from now on?
When this one dies out, we need to develop as a society a reality check.
It will be cold, but it has to be the truth.

I mean, he didn’t say mandates. Essentially he put out there that you shouldn’t run out and kick door handles just cause you got a vaccine. Which is generally good advice across vaccines.
