I think he’s almost certainly correct. During flu season, if someone feels bad, but has to go out in public he or she probably SHOULD wear a mask.

Flu has been nonexistent because every single sickness was called covid.
Congested nose=covid

I agree, I think you'll almost certainly see masks for a long time in places like New York, Boston, LA, etc.

Have you missed how quickly that turns into a social edict from the Left? Virus numbers have plummeted, there are 3 vaccines that anyone can now get, and people are still expecting others to wear these goddamn masks all the time.

Wait... I thought there was no flu because everybody was washing their hands. The Masked COVIDians on TD were saying that “The Science” says you can’t get flu though the air, it’s transmitted on surfaces. That was their explanation for the rise in COVID cases even when people were wearing masks but simultaneously zero cases of flu we’re recorded. It just couldn’t have been inflation of COVID numbers by counting flu cases as COVID cases. But now we’re reading that Pope Fauci says masks may be worn to prevent the flu which can be spread through the air... hmmm.

Scott Gottlieb, former head of the fda under Trump, has been spot on with pretty much all of his predictions and is on face the nation every Sunday morning. He’s much more reasonable than Fauci and again has been pretty much spot on predicting the surges and declines in cases. I highly recommend reading his transcript from this morning. He is on the board at Phizer and is open about that but never pushes the Phizer vaccine or tells people to stay holed up.
Two interesting things he said was that from the beginning he has said that when we have 5-10 cases per every 100,000 people we should open up. He said most places are there or are close and if they aren’t there now they’ll be there within weeks. One word of warning was that he said places with low vaccination rates (Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama) will probably surge in the fall but we’ll have to deal with that then and hopefully vaccination rates pickup. But he’s very much, I think everyone should get the vaccine but it’s ultimately their choice.
