a lot of that had to do with the blocking rules changing to prioritize length and sheer mass on the OL. A 330 lb tackle wouldn't have the agility to play under 1980 rules and a 240 lb tackle wouldn't have the size and strength to play under modern rules

I think some of those Cowboys OL were well over 300 and I think the whole line except perhaps the center was over 300.

There were plenty 300lb OL in the 90s. Probably the majority. But there was still a lot of 280 and 290lb centers.

I have no idea why you are getting DVed. This is correct. They are constantly being told to add mass not cut.

I worked with a 450lber he ended up getting to 520lb had surgery and then got down to 220lb. I watched that bastard eat an entire Hungry Howies pizza and wash it down with a 2 liter of Mountain Lightning every single day at lunch. Ya gotta be an absolute frickin pig to get that big.
