Corona doesn't thrive in the cold. It prefers warmth see new Orleans.

I wish the OPs graph had sweden which is sitting better than everybody in Europe except Germany with no lockdown

You're right if we leave out Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Denmark, Austria, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Romania, Croatia, Poland and a few others lol

Good. Time for an extension of stay at home until the fall. It’s the only way to be sure.

Not a chance.

People won’t abide by these lockdowns past May.

This graph is a better illustration of how full of crap China is. Belgium has just over 11 million people and has more Covid deaths than China.

The graph also shows how geography is huge in the US. Europe has a lot more mass transit and density. That should help us isolate this thing better in the coming weeks with testing and tracing.

So, you’ll be in agreement when he urges opening things up in three weeks?

The shutdowns are at the state level:

At that level,

NY needs you to bump that Y-axis up a bit

(note:NY jumped to the top of the charts without judgement from the media, contrast that to that week where LA looked like the next hot spot).

NJ looks a lot like Italy

LA/MI/CT got a bit of a French thing going on, with MA making a late run for it.

IL/RI/WA hanging out around the US average (55-75)

Some population heavy hitters (OH/TX/CA) bringing the average down.

ETA: And Florida doing a heck of a job keeping their old people out of the way it seems.

One thing people fail to consider, over half of those hospitalized wind up on a vent, and about half come off the vent,,,,,the ones that survive getting off the vent have fairly severe lung scarring,,,,you can’t repair that, those people will be disabled and a vastly shorter life span.

If the trends continue the way they have been yea.

I've said like 10 times that we'll be back to business sans large gatherings by mid may or sooner.

Yes you can. Healthy parts of the lungs can compensate for damaged parts. Just like you can remove a kidney and the other kidney can compensate.

Unless you have severe underlying emphysema. In which case you would have died soon anyway
