NYC got stuck doing some of the same things (to which extent compared to Italy I don't know). All cause mortality for NYC the 31days preceding April 4th shows a 2000 fatality gap not explained by coronavirus positives.

Effectively - period from March 4th-April 4th NYC had 9800 deaths, would have expected around 4500 for that same time period based on past years, and 3350 were listed as CV.
