It was at the apartment complex not an actual neighborhood
No it wasn’t. It was in the neighborhood.

FWIW That apartment complex is almost 100% black
the highland club apts are not even 30%

The ones further north and across old Jeff and sect 8 are not even 80%

Why is it assumed that every apartment complex in the world is 100% black and 100% section 8?

I lived in Highland Club apartments and used to fish those ponds about 12 years ago. Never caught crap there. It was sweet that I had a putting green about 10 feet from my front door though. Obligatory could have been me.

Apartments have a weird long-standing and arbitrary stigma to them. In larger cities people that do very well live in apartments (corporate leases, people moving to a new city that don’t want to buy a home)

My dad lives in an apartment when he's in BR. He owns 3 homes but doesn't want to bother with the maintenance/yard etc so he rents them out.

What does the apt complex past this neighborhood have to do with the shooting?

WBRZ initially said the shooting happened in the Apartment Complex.
Watch the Video. She says it happened at the apartment complex several times.

The article has been updated to say Highland Club Avenue to cover their butts.
Then the video shows officers checking on the Suites at the front of the neighborhood b/c it looks like one or more of the officers' bullets may have gone into that first commercial building facing Jefferson.

That's why it's been confusing.

From another website's video looks like it happened in front of 16530 Highland Club.

I’ve read like 20 clearer Thread titles today on the Quad.

There’s like three or four levels of ambiguity to that shitshow.

Autopy Results Released

quote:

An autopsy Monday, Sept. 16. determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and upper extremities. “Mr. Watkins’ manner of death is homicide,” East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner William “Beau” Clark wrote Monday.

"Homicide" is simply the taking of a life by another human. It in no way indicates guilt. Simply responsibility. The officer is "responsible" for the death by the act of shooting him. Technically, any act of self defense is considered a homicide. Whether they are criminally charged/convicted is up to the DA and a jury. Not the coroner.

Apparently there is a video and it doesn't look good for the Deputy.
