Calling it a ZZ top beard is a bit insulting to ZZ top probably. They were rocking that look for a long time and pretty individual about it.
All these dudes aren't mimicking a trend created by someone cool like ZZ top...they're mimicking Duck Dynasty - cool enough dudes in their own right, but the distinction is worth making

All fat men grow out their beards to hide their second chin fat. Most fat men are also bald, so they use it to compensate.

I’ve noticed this too…
I shave my head but I’m anti goatee, beard, or mustache. I like the clean cue ball look, no chalk marks.
