It’s really not much more money to go to Texas Roadhouse than fast food. If I’m spending $30 at CFA I could spend $40 and get better food. Just paying for the convenience.

Speaking of, fast food places are slower now too. Always asking me to pull up. Like did I catch you by surprise? You weren’t expecting anyone to order an egg McMuffin and now you gotta cook it from scratch?

I always order using the place's app. Usually has discounts and don't have to worry about how someone else puts your order in.

Used to be $2.99 for a 2 cheeseburger combo.

Could order half the menu at Taco Bell for $8

Fast food used to be cheap food, not anymore. Main reason in-n-out is so popular, the quality is pretty damn good and the price is similar to McDonalds.

Taco bell and a lot of places is cheaper if you use the app. I can get the $5 box that gives me a main item, a smaller item like a taco, nachos and cheese, and a drink.

Also, Chili's is doing a drink, a choice of endless chips and salsa, soup, or salad, with a good burger or chicken sandwich for 10.99. they have a new QP burger that's actually really good and juicy. Much better quality than McDonald's for the same price.

I have had BK pull that stunt on me twice, the second time I told them, "Whichever comes for the price on the menu"

I don’t do fast food anymore, so I don’t get any up charges.

Why order a drink at a fast food place? Just drink from your water bottle.

This is the pro move. Oh and if you have to eat fast food, use the app and you’ll probably save some $$$

when a burger and a drink cost more

I always ordered a burger, small fry with no drink. I'd usually get water or something at home and I didn't like too many fries because.. Well, they are not the healthiest food one can eat. One time I remember the person taking my order.. I was inside ordering. Told me that if I just got the meal it would only be.. I don't know.. 20 cents more.. It was less than a dollar. I told her no thank you and she looked at me like I was nuts.

I don't want more fries because if I had more I would eat them. That's why a lot of people are fat, they are getting food that comes with more than they should eat.

I just know a small drink at a Taco Bell kiosk for $2.39 is a goddam ripoff.

It wastes a lot of food since some people won't eat any or all of the fries.

In full agreement there. At least McDonalds has mobile specials where you get a Royale with cheese and chicken nuggets instead of fries for just the price of the Royale.

Since the late COVID/post COVID price pressures on fast food most of them have gone to a two-tier pricing system: app prices and menu prices. The difference is often remarkable and you usually get ~10% "back" in some form of account that you can use on a later purchase.
