Drove by a McDonald's today and it was two lines deep like a Chik Fil-a and thought to myself how the f can anyone rationalize paying those insane prices for FAST FOOD?

McDonalds is no longer worth it. Hasn't been for awhile, but I remember 20 years ago when your order was waiting for you when you pulled up to the window. That was part of the allure, no wait, at all. Now, you're gonna wait almost no matter where you go. If I'm paying that much and waiting, I want quality, or I can just cook at home.

Here is their margin history. They're fricking robbing their customers blind.
McDonald’s net margins are basically flat since Summer 2021 when inflation began in earnest. 31.7% to 33.2.

Inflation is a product of expansion of the money supply. Too much money chasing too few goods.

Apparently, the fine print on the coupon, which you can’t see, says “at participating franchises “ which the particular franchise has the option not to use coupons.
Yeah I forgot about that, but at least around here people wouldn’t dare do that. I understand people buy these franchises, especially Subway and between the cost of everything and the coupons we’re talking about hurt the bottom line even more, but honestly that’s not my problem. I’m not trying to be an arse about it, but don’t send me something in the mail and then tell me you don’t take coupons. That’s between corporate and the people that bought into the franchise.

US, UK, and French money supplies increased about 20% since 2020. Cumed inflation since 2020? About 20%

That’s incorrect. Newspapers have been writing stories about the Darien McDs for 30yrs because it’s such an obnoxious outlier.
It isn’t even logical how it survived. It’s just an unsuspecting rest stop off the highway at the NY / CT border.
At this point people probably go to that location just to say they’ve eaten at the most expensive McDs.

Hell, some are wanting $30/hr.
Perhaps these idiots will price themselves out of a job and the fast food joints will die off in Ca.

The O-T might be getting older, but I’d bet a lot of the posters on Tigerdroppings will see the day where these fast food places are almost fully automated. Robots aren’t getting paid and that just means more profit for the companies. We can rightfully complain about inflation, especially after the last 4 years and that blame falls on all of the bought and paid for politicians in Washington, and all of the State Capitals around this country. At the same time grocery stores, fast food places, even local gas stations will raise prices to make more money. That’s life in the system we live in, it’s not perfect but its damn sure better than what’s been tried and failed before.

Inflation is controlled by the suppliers who are controlled by fast food corporations. They all suck together. The only way any change will actually be done is if people stop buying the stuff altogether.
Idk if I’m misunderstanding, but true inflation (ie dollar wise) can only be caused by one thing. The federal government printing money.

That’s kind of the point, but people also have the option of not giving them a dime. Running a business isn’t a charity, it’s always about making the most profit you can. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small business or McDonald’s, it’s about the money. Why should anyone feel bad about making money?

I just every company in America now wanting to be a “premium” product to try and justify higher prices. But the thing is, McDonalds was never that. They are cheap fast food for the masses. Same goes for car brands. Fricking Jeep now wants $100k for a glorified grand Cherokee.

I don't eat fast food anymore. It was fine when a combo meal was $5 - $6. But now I'll pay $12 for a meal, and the moment I take a bite of the burger or sandwich, my immediate thought is "This is not worth it," and disgust comes over me.
