We went to Pigeon Forge Tennessee a few summers ago and rented a cabin. Ton of stuff for the kids to do. National parks, rafting, and horseback plus touristy stuff like Dollywood so the kids had a ball

We went to San antonio last year

Sea world, six flags, and tons of other shite to do and it's not too terrible of a drive.

You can hit Traverse City, Macinac Island (how every you spell it), Detroit (The Henry Ford Museum is a must), Canada is just over the bridge, and U.P. upper peninsula is cool too.

White water rafting in Tennessee would be a good choice for kids that age.

Outer banks

This.

My family has been going to Topsail Island every year since before i was born. It's a little further south than the Outer Banks, but I would imagine that it is quite similar.

I look forward to going every year. Even the 16 hr drive isn't that bad.
