Family returns from St Jude's stay to burglarized home

(KTVE/KARD) — On Sunday, September 13, 2026, a family that resides in Farmerville, La., returned to their home on Academy Street after spending two weeks at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with their child. Upon arrival, they reportedly discovered that the back door of the home was forced open.
Once the family entered their residence, they realized that the home had been burglarized. According to Crime Stoppers of Union Parish, jewelry, money, tools, electronics, and medication belonging to their child were stolen. The family also discovered that a can of paint was poured throughout the house, damaging countertops, children’s clothing, personal belongings, and items of sentimental value.
The Farmerville Police Department is investigating, with assistance from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office. If you have information about this crime, please contact Crime Stoppers of Union Parish. You can also contact FPD at (318) 368-2226 or UPSO at (318) 368-3124.

There are shithead car thief crews who work the hospital parking lots in Houston. I personally know a family whose truck was stolen while his grandson was in recovery from an organ transplant. I imagine the other car owners affected were dealing with their own medical and family things as well.
