This sucks and I understand the family wants to hold someone responsible but first, can you even prove peer pressure? I guess you can if there were witnesses, but then you have to prove that it was the sole reason for making a decision.
And while you would think that if someone saw a friend or "brother" being kicked out of a bar and they were unable to walk straight, someone would help them out. See that they get to wherever they need to go safely, its not illegal to not do so.
Maybe if he was forced to drink a lot?

It doesn't matter. The family will sue, and they will win or get a significant settlement.

Lulz. It’s the moment you let your kid spread their wings and begin their own life. If they can’t say no because of “peer pressure “, you failed at your job. I can’t imagine losing a child, but damn, stop trying to extract money and placing blame in an attempt to minimize your failure as a parent.

Probably what everyone involved is really after here.

Personal responsibility is no longer a thing thanks to lawyers and journalists who are always looking for someone to blame.

Ummm... no.
I have done my level best to give my kids as close to the level of autonomy and anonymity as I had in HS/College in the 80s. No Life 360. No "find friends" tracking.
Mrs. udtiger? Not so much.

Not at all. I have suggested to her that she adopt my philosophy. She refuses. Any "bad cop" is purely of her own volition.

They probably suing the Nashville police department for not ensuring his safety from the cop that stopped and talked to him

The ultimate truth is survival of the fittest
Not just fit body, fit mind.

I’m sure it’s different from school to school but the Delta Chis at my college were the closest thing to Animal House I’d ever seen. Total losers that couldn’t get into any other fraternity and partied like they would never be invited back next year. They bought an old apt complex en lieu of a traditional frat house. When I was a senior in high school we were offered a tour of the different fraternities that we may be interested in our freshman year. We got to the Delta Chi House (apt building )and shite you not - The first apt/room they had us view, some guy had a high school chick asleep in bed with him. Kinda awkward
This is a bizarre post

including failing to have adequate safety measures in place for this formal, allowing excessive drinking on the charter buses that transported the fraternity to Nashville, and the absence of chaperones or advisors among other accusations
That was the case with every fraternity event that I attended while in college. Back in the day these are the very reasons we joined fraternities.

Smart enough for college but to dumb to be an adult . Hope the family gets nothing. The wanted bady sitters at the party instead of teaching their adult child how to act.
