My mother (black woman) is a professional natural childbirth instructor.
The cold truth is black women are disproportionately unhealthy before/during pregnancy. This puts them behind the 8 ball from jump street.

I wasn't nervous at all for the birth of my kid until the doctor came in and said they had to perform an emergency c section on my wife. After that I was petrified, literally shaking. That's serious sh#t. If you don't understand the potential complications of a C section you just weren't paying attention to the stuff your doctor was telling you.
