I know.. "Dear Facebook"

To be fair, I don't post these often.

Why do so many single moms post pictures of themselves half-naked or scantily clad? I mean I'm not against it or anything, but isn't that inappropriate? Shouldn't you be trying to set a good example for your kids.

One theory I've read is that women subconsciously do things like this to compete with other women. But regardless of the reason, do people just not have any shame anymore?

Shame may not be the right word, but growing up with relatively religious parents (Southern Baptist) people had more personal integrity.

I have found in my short time on this earth that people who make terrible decisions are far more vocal (whether literally or figuratively) about those choices. And there’s a lot of people out there that make bad choices.

ETA: also even just a decade ago there was barely an outlet for these decisions to be displayed to every last person on earth with an internet connection.

note the term
quote:

single mothers
includes divorced women

Unlike the old term "unmarried mothers"

But that was too judgmental

Another example of the language being manipulated for PC

They get real mad when they find out I spent every last dime I had getting a vasectomy.

Not really. Just didn't have the means to express it for the masses.

they are likely uneducated, poor, and desperate. they need to suck in a man to take care of them and the kid(s) ASAP.

Advertising targeted at men.

She now not only needs someone to provide for her needs, but also the needs of her child (or children). She's no longer on daddy's payroll and her baby daddy is long gone. She's attempting to procure resources for herself and her young.

Why do single guys post gym pics of their pathetically small arms or grand displays of wealth like a new car/house? Advertising targeted at women. "I'm strong and have resources and can provide for you and our young."

the new thing now for single moms is to be yoga teachers... ( with spiritual captions and them in leggings and sports bras)...

that and owning those nutritional places that sell loaded teas/ meal replacement shakes/

We are in a day and age where everyday women freely post pictures that men would have begged for back in the day

It’s glorious and sad all at the same time

The inspirational quotes are always so bad. The worst part is they clearly never take their own self posted advice.
