the cab mount bushings, I have the same issue on my F250.

Makes sense because that’s where it feels like it’s coming from and all the leaf springs/shock bushings are tight. As are the exhaust ones I checked all of those earlier

Death wobble was on mine too. It was a rubber bushing on the stabilizer bar

It’s going in the shop Friday. Started hopping so bad last night I had to pull over on I-10. My wife was gripping like she was in the electric chair. Never had it that bad before.

Sound advice.

After committing insurance fraud, I would go buy a Tundra.

A slightly used Tundra work truck is probably only a little more than the cost the OP will have to incur when his 6.4L Powerstroke grenades.

Well it’s a company truck not my own. I’m trying to make it last because the company changed over to buying managers fleet deal base model Ram 1500s which fricking suck so I want to keep the Lariat as long as I can

Check the bushings under the bed. Our work trucks are toast, after about 100K miles of towing.

From bad to worse. Yep, I would hang on to the Ford as long as you can.

This one is at 184k and has spent its entire life on gravel roads on a catfish farm

In hindsight, I should've done this on my 08. Even if convicted, I would've spent less time in jail than my truck spent in the shop.

I had two mechanics give up, and Tri-care almost told me to take it home, because it was such a PITA. Imagine getting so frustrated, you don't want to get paid $100/hr to work on something (they also charge like $1500 for three hours to take the cab off). After the fourth engine and about $30k, they told me to park it, and dump it on someone else ASAP. I did, it broke again, and the guy wanted to murder me.

Will never own a Ford again. I'd rather walk

Eta: This was a process between 5-7 years ago, and I'd bet money the guys at Tri-care still remember it

Typical ford. Body mounts ROT and FALL OFF.

They use the cheapest materials available, then tout their vehicles as the toughest machines ever created.

Not an uncommon story with Ford diesels, especially since 2005 or so. I know a lot of Ford loyalists that switched to Dodge, GMC, Chevy, and even Toyota, etc. during that time.

I’m lucky. My last F250 had a 7.3L, which is anemic by modern standards...but at least it actually ran. I traded it after a couple of hundred thousand miles and didn’t get burned on too many repairs.

Was yours a 6.0 or 6.4?

No doubt. Engine is strong the check light has never been on. Seats and interior still look new and all electronic options still work.

Just has occasional suspension issues from rough roads and high miles but I’ll keep fixing those long as it keeps being a decent truck otherwise

It’s a 2009. Friend of mine was behind me the other day said the truck isn’t straight like it’s driving cocked sideways a little bit. I can’t tell while driving it but he swears to it

if leaf springs or hanger (little pivot thing at the back) are lose or bushings gone this will cause truck to lean

also if the leaf spring u-bolts are lose the rear axle can shift and throw the rear end out of alignment

6.4

I won't ever DD another diesel either. One repair can put you in the poor house. It's gas 3/4 tons from here on

How do you go through 4 engines? Mine has been on a farm for 9 years 180k miles and purrs like a kitten never missed a beat. And I pulled a trailer the other day so heavy I couldn’t go over 40 mph cause the truck would start swaying side to side. Squalled tires trying to get up and go at a red light
