I won't ever DD another diesel either. One repair can put you in the poor house. It's gas 3/4 tons from here on
Duramax is where it's at if you want a diesel.
I've got an 05 Excursion that's been sitting in the driveway for 2 years. I had to replace 1/2 the injectors on it and said F this.

1. Either cab or bed mounts is the problem.
2. A new Ram 1500 is better than the old Ford, especially if you're not paying the bill.
3. Ford 6.0 diesel is an abomination to mankind.
4. If you want a diesel just to have a diesel, with little to no demand on it, get a GMC Duramax, but be prepared to pay more for maintenance. They did not put parts in convenient locations.
5. If you want a diessel for serious purposes, there is only one choice: Cummins, with an Aisin transmission, although the manual G56 is pretty good as well. If you want to do anything serious at all with a Cummins, never get a Chrysler transmission.
6. All diesels should be deleted with regard to the EPA crap. Massive scam that is costing diesel owners thousands of dollars over the life of a vehicle.

Do not buy aftermarket cab mount bushings. They don’t fit properly.

Sounds like you have your answer in the cab mounts.
Scorpion 6.7 is the best diesel on the market currently.
Quietest, smoothest, excellent fuel economy.
That said, buy the extended warranty.
I wouldn't run a delete on any diesel engine made in the last 2-3 years, but to each his own.

bunch of whiny haters up in here. 10 year old work truck with some cab bushing rot and people on here going off the cliff on how every other truck brand is so great.
6.0 and 6.4's weren't great motors.
6.7's will kick any competitors arse.

i saw that in a YouTube video, old man said that in his research after you drop cab and torque down that all should be fine.

They sucked royally. Ford corporate got a lot of heat from dealers and fleet managers on those.
Ford hasn’t made a decent diesel since the old 7.3L, which was an old Navistar/IH design.

From a durability standpoint, the Duramax and Cummins are the only safe options at the moment.

The engineering on the Scorpion platform is unsurpassed, even by the Duramax.
Ford couldn't afford another disaster, so they took their time and got the 6.7 right.
I'm not a blind brand loyalist; I'll buy whatever (I think) the best is ATM.

Cummins
Hard to knock the Cummins, especially since Ram has upped their transmission and front suspension game.
Ram still has a ways to go in NVH.
Duramax/Allison was the gold standard for a long time, but GM fell behind with crappy interiors and switchgear. Duramax had some teething pains early on with injector issues, but that has been cured.

Not the case.
Besides the comfort in the ride they will shift.

how much more expensive are factory bushings?
Posted on 8/14/18 at 1:27 pm to Chad504boy
I have a 14 year old truck, and the cab bushings are fine. It lived in PA, and pulled a 5th wheel for the first 5 years, then went to west TX for the next 5
