It will damn near throw me off the road and have to slow down under 40 mph to make it stop. Rides fine unless I hit a bump a certain way.

Just had new rack and pinion, tie rods put in. All other bushings seem tight. Replaced the steering stabilizer cylinder this morning. It's still doing it.

What could cause this?

It's called "death wobble" and be caused by a few things. Bring it to a reputable shop.

Increase the lift from 6" to an 8". Will clear it right up.

I'm not sure one exists here

I got a dodge that's been at the dealership for 4 months for a wiring issue and they won't ever return my calls. There's no good independent mechanics around for front end work that I know of

Death Wobble. Can be caused by ball joints, track bar, or a number of things. Common on Jeeps. Bring it to a shop like Searchers or 4WP that is used to dealing with solid front axles. Avoid the dealership unless you want to be back the next day with the same issue.
