Plan A. I'm sure they worked on other plans later. But waiting for a better option didn't solve the problem.

My buddy was a medic with the US Park Police at the time and they were having a training day on 9/11. He was in the Huey and they came over the radio and ordered them to fly towards the Capitol building on a vector to intercept Flight 93's path. He said it was strange because all they had on board were two M-16's but no one said anything. Unlikely a big slow Huey could have even gotten into the path of a jetliner much less brought it down.

Roll with what you've got until you come up with something better.
I would actually be very interested to see a timeline of plans to intercept the aircraft, what was at least initially executed, and what plans were disregarded/too extreme/unlikely to be successful. I'd bet those guys in charge had some pretty good imaginations.

I was honestly asking. No veiled smarmy comment. I've seen the WTC memorial and reflecting pool etc. the bent pieces of the steel. I honestly just wondered if anything was onsite at the pentagon. It's not the most public place so I asked my question.

Why not? The plane was headed for the White House or Capital. They had to stop it and had no time to arm planes.

So do you believe that even today they only have 2 armed and ready to go with less than an hours preparation....because that's what it is.
The plane wasn't armed sitting at the base and it took an hour to get it that way...they didn't have an hour. I'm trying to figure out what is so unbelievable about that story???
