Is that even a practiced offensive technique? Simulator time obviously but a way to disable another plane with your plane with dying? Shear a wing off and eject. Lol

So how long after the Cold War did it stop?

You can probably trace it back to Clinton's defense spending cuts when he came into office in '93. The pull out after Desert Storm had ended by then as well I believe. I can't prove that's when it happened but I'd imagine it's as good of a guess as any.

Excuse me, but is the thought that 9/11 was an inside job not a perceived condition reality to you?

The whole "truther" movement relies on some sort of collaboration. Where was the official scientific analysis performed? You know, the one that was funded and backed by experts across the board. I'm not talking about some yo yo with engineering knowledge on YouTube. By the way, engineers can be wrong too. I work with a bunch of them who are wrong all the time.

I know we had F-15's on air defense scramble alert, fully loaded and ready to go at a moments notice at several US bases at least until 1989. Tyndall AFB, LangleyAFB, McDill AFB to name a few. Mostly FF birds out of Langley.
Nothing like being close enough to hear the alert klaxon at the alert shelters and watching two Eagles do a high speed taxi out of there straight into a Full AB take-off going vertical as soon as gear was up.
Simply an incredible sight.

As for shooting down United 93... I wouldn't doubt it occured nor would I have a problem with it given the days circumstances. Of course that order would hhave come from the top and would never have been leaked.
Not saying that's what occurred, just saying I wouldn't doubt it at all either

Guy obviously doesn't understand duty, honor, or integrity. Too many like him these days.
He probably doesn't believe anyone has ever given up their life for others

So none of the Air Force bases(Langley,Andrews,Bolling,Dover,McGuire) had no armed aircraft ready to go? The Navy had no armed aircraft near the biggest Nave base in the US? DC has no anti aircraft missile defense? Yeah its hard to believe that story at all.

for fricks sake

how about you look into each bases mission before posting stupid shite like this.

Not every base has fighter jets on it.

That's because it crashed at high speed into a building dumbass. There's not going to be a jet left.

You people are functionally retarded.

Well flight 93 went into a field in Pennsylvania so maybe get it right before calling the retards retarded.

Nowadays, it is standard operating procedure for there to be armed jets that can be in the air at the drop of a hat. 2 f-15s sit "on alert" at all times in Belle Chasse for example with pilots dedicated to them on rorating 24hr shifts.

I was doing some work on the control tower and a dorm when that happened and we had to pull everyone out and weren't let back in for I believe it was close to a month. When we got back in those two were sitting at the end of the tarmac under tents and they were flying in shifts then. Arming and disarming under the tent.

That was some tight security getting back in there. Same as Waterford 3 Nuclear Plant. We had to leave there for a month as well.

When you're not deployed, at the range, or in the field (even in the field the most you might have is blanks), your weapon stays locked in an arms room. No use for a loaded weapon during 99% of garrison duty so it's not worth the risk of walking around with loaded weapons. For what?
