You can guarantee they can do this on simple garage door remotes also. They probably don’t even have to be smart to figure it out.

Probably but at least with that you can throw a padlock on the door track at night

Yea, I was looking at ordering one earlier. Our garage is full with our other vehicles so my F250 is the sacrifice that gets to stay outside.

It’s hilarious with all the technology the best thing to protect your car is a simple solution from the 90s.

I’ve heard from NOPD they believe a lot of the stolen cars in nola are part of an organized crime ring that is hammering the gulf coast right now all the way to Atlanta. I’m sure this is part of that ring.

Wireless push button start is the ll stupidest idea ever. Car ignitions should all use an actual key.

The theives have a device that sends multiple unlock codes to the truck and it unlocks pretty quickly. Then they open the hood installing something that allows them to crank it with their own key. Pull off and no one notices. No push start is safe.

I bet they won’t try that in a small town. For example, the mean streets of Welsh, Louisiana.

Yeah they'll go to steal a truck and realize another methhead already cut the catalytic converter off. That's what happens in small towns.

I invested in separate gps trackers for all my rigs…just in case. Little money but the fun of hunting it down will be worth it.

Left me out that 1990’s era work truck with manual windows, manual locks, and no fancy stuff is shining bright now.

hijack the signal from your key fob

I've seen it done... mostly it just unlocks doors ... some cars start but turn right back off... some cars prompt you to press start button with key fob... most these guys only using it to steal firearms out of trucks and SUVS in public parking lots

That’s why I got an EV, baws. If anyone steals it they won’t get far before they run out of range, and I’ll catch up to them during the hour long recharge! But you suckers keep driving your ICE vehicles.

Isn't it still hunting season?? Maybe if one of those bucks got shot trying to steal the truck in the driveway it might change things up.

Welcome to the past 5 years in South Texas. They steal them and drive straight to the border. There have been 7 thefts at work in a secure parking lot the past 5 years.

Guess owning a Faraday bag for key fobs will be needed now.

I’ve used a faraday bag for my key fob since my vehicle was stolen in 2020. Pretty much the only way to stop car theft with these rings.

That won't help. They don't need the key fob signal.
