My granddad would wear clothes until they had holes in them. He had a drawer full of brand new shirts he never wore because he was saving them. He wasn't wealthy, but he was plenty well off enough to wear new clothes.

I think this would qualify as an extreme,
But anytime I take trips away from the house for at least a couple of days, I always cut off the AC until we return. It saves a few bucks, plus theres no need to keep the house all cool and comfy when no one is there.

Dude where you buying your milk from? 1985?
Both the Aldi and Winco near my house sell milk cheaper than that. And it's better than other places.

I reuse condoms.
Just kidding. I don't use condoms.

FIL separates plys on multi-ply toilet paper and rolls it up onto an empty roll.
Also saves and reuses nails. Some have been straightened at least four or five times.
He’s very well off but you’d swear he’s on his last dime.

My mother in law and late father in law ,but it is how they were raised. Both were born at the end of WW2 in Germany and growing up at that time you didn't waste anything and you reused everything you could. Growing up in a country after a major war people couldn't afford to waste anything ,because people had very little to begin with. If they can reuse something they will.

Tampons are sponges.
Wash out and re-use.

In other parts of the country, milk is way less than it is here. I've seen in in a Dallas walmart and in Tulsa

I only take Mexican girls out because white girls are too materialistic. I save a lot of money this way. Not sure how extreme it is

Know a guy that got divorced a little over a year ago and has adopted the pauper lifestyle. Rents a studio a couple of blocks from his office so he either walks or rides his bike to work. He has one TV, but only watches DVD's he checks out from the library. Doesn't have internet/Wifi in the apartment. Sold his fairly new F-150 and drives a 15ish year old Camry. He doesn't have kids so no child support payments, and no alimony to the ex. He makes probably north of $100k per year, so he's not doing it out of necessity that I know of. Unless there was a bunch of debt from the marriage he's on the hook for.
Not sure if any of that is extreme, but given his prior lifestyle I think it is.

I wish you would save money by canceling internet service.

My grandpa would eat or drink ANYTHING that was expired or old in the refrigerator.

He is probably the happiest he's ever been in his entire life.

Wonder how much it varies geographically? It's about that price in Georgia. Does it vary like fuel?

We reuse gift bags and tissue paper.
Fold that shite up and put it in boxes.
Frick paying $3-5 for that every time.

Not extreme, I program my thermostat to do the same whether I'm at work or on vacation.
The daily program hovers around 72-73 and it's easy to get it back down to 70 for when I get home, but I'll set it to stay at 75 if I'm out of town for a weekend or 78 for a whole week. As long as it keeps the air dehumidified is the only concern if you're not there.
PS Get spray foam insulation, it's a game changer if you want to save real money on power bills.
