Do you or anyone you know do anything extreme to save money?

Anyone wash and reuse ziplock bags and foil paper?

This dude I use to hang around with when I was younger was the cheapest dude I ever met. He would dress poor to go to bars an ask people to if he could borrow money to pay his way into the bar (if there was a cover).

Someone I know, who use to ride with him on a plant job they were working in Convent told me that on one day they would go in his truck and then the next day they would go in the cheap dude's truck. The cheap dude refused to run the A/C because he said he gets more out of a gallon of gas if he doesn't run the AC...

Have “Larry Leo” post articles rather than hiring a legitimate journalist.

Get out of shower wet and lay in bed with ceiling fan on, instead of running AC at nighttime.

I know of a couple that saved $3400 a year by eating free samples at supermarkets as their meals and go to realtor’s open houses on Sundays to eat cookies and finger foods.

I've seen a boss put duct tape on his worn out brown paper lunch bag just so he could keep using it.

Had an old roommate I had to talk out of signing both of us up to live in El Cid.

I think he also calculated by that it would save somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 bucks over the course of 12 months to only go disposable plates/silverware/cups instead of buying regular stuff. Had to talk him out of that too.

An old HS friend would order items from McDonalds with no cheese, then proceed to grab a slice of cheese from the refrigerator of whoever's house we went to.

I dated a girl who brought a slice of cheese in her purse to Lakeside dollar burgers to save $0.50. We were both pretty poor. I was making spaghetti with ground nutria and not telling her what it was. I miss those days. Life was simple. We would stay home and frick instead of going out to eat because we couldn't afford it. Always a fan of that
