If I eat somewhere with a self serve fountain drink machine AND I’m eating there, I’ll buy the smallest cup they sell.

that's not an extreme, rather common sense

edit: unless you want something larger for your to-go

I do a lot of these: buy smallest cup if have access to soda machine (dining in), turn off ac majority of my drive (if not unbearable), wear clothes until they have holes (or just dont fit, been years since bought new clothes), turn off ac at house when go to work, buy generic brand whenever possible (99% same ingredients/some time even produced by the ‘name’ brand), fill up when bone dry at costco (never filled up everywhere else in years), buy in bulk from costco when the kirkland signature non-perishable items go sale (tp, paper towels, daily used items) have about year worth of supplies in shed, pay for insurance full pay (not per month), ill do all i can to pay cash for items if saves me on taxes/any fees.

Now, friend of mine does ‘extreme coupon’ and I see how much they save. I just can not bring myself to fill up 2+ grocery cart worth of items, hold up a line while we check out plus make cashier scan zillion coupons. Plus time takes to clip and organize coupons, you have to not seem much value in your time imo

That is why I got a vasectomy at age 15.

Think about the money I saved while shooting blanks.

No condoms.
No kids.

When we go to the walmart in Huntsville we usually buy about 4 gallons of milk and freeze two.

It's 99 cents there, versus 3 dollars and something at the walamart my wife usually shops at.

It's not that we cant afford it, I think its just the principle of the matter that we know we can buy it for a third of the price else where.

This might be a stupid question, but how long does milk stay fresh after it is unfrozen?

Not sure exactly, but it stays fresh long enough for us to use it. I would assume about the same amount of time that it usually does.

We have a small deep freeze and and extra fridge in the garage. So we just store it in there.

Does take a while to defrost though in the fridge. Usually pull one out of the freezer when we open the last unfrozen one.

My friend’s dad had a coupon for Steak n Shake so he took us there. When he couldn’t use his coupon he claimed he wasn’t hungry anymore. He did buy us food. Not a money thing at all as he is a well paid physician.
