Leave it to the worst network on TV.

Possible causes of Beirut explosion: • Firecrackers exploded due to large and negligible production ( Al Jazeera) • The warehouse was stored with benzene ( Al Mayeeden) • A Hezbollah missile store was targeted near the Beirut port (Al Hadath)

frick is that a hotel right next to it?
nevermind that is in the port, I'm dumb
It's on Google Earth as the Beirut Port Silos, which makes sense
In the video I and a few others have posted, you can find St. Nicholas Church (which is in the foreground of the video) and see what's between it and the church.
There is a catholic hospital in the middle, unfortunately. Another hospital and a Greek orthodox school, as well

That tweet implies fireworks warehouse.

How did they know to have the camera randomly pointed at the exact spot the explosion would happen??

this angle does support report that it was fireworks warehouse. Kind of resembles huge fireworks explosion in mexico from a few years back
Either that shite in Beirut wasn't fireworks, started as fireworks and worked to something else, or was the largest storage of fireworks in the world. That shite in Mexico doesn't TOUCH the explosion in Beirut.

I mean it looks like there was an ongoing fire

Yeah I think it's obvious that either fireworks or munitions caused the initial explosion and then ignited something in the silos.

Doubtful that anyone in that building survived.

It's pretty obvious people were already filming a very large smoke plume
