The early reports of gun shots must be false now? Nothing from the police on that, 6 officers responded and all I’ve seen is that they spent their time evacuating people.

I was watching the news on my phone a moment ago and they mentioned that authorities think the gun shots may have been recorded and broadcast over the same loudspeakers telling people to evacuate. But who knows?

If only we had a patriot act to stop this.

No, white means a white pope, black means a black pope. The black one doesn't get used often.

If someone has the knowledge of that server building and what it means to the network, they are likely smart enough to avoid detection.

Edward Snowden just had a baby FWIW.

Other than one statement about finding “human remains” is there anything else out there providing additional confirmation?

Anyone old enough to remember how long the OKC investigation took for real developments?

Have they confirmed it was human remains? Last I heard they were calling it something like “organic material they suspect may be human”.

That was a long time ago but I do remember the OK City Bombing. If my memory serves me right I don’t think it took very long to get answers. Maybe a matter of days or a couple weeks or so?

Within a day or two the FBI traced the VIN # off of the axel of the Ryder truck to Nichols. The hunt was on at that point. McVeigh was actually in custody on a traffic type warrant/violation when they identified him as a suspect. Both were charged in a week or so max.

FBI likely knows a ton at this point. They won’t release anything until they’ve got some people in custody.

Update on the ATT situation from another forum I follow:

The Nashville building (NSVLTNMT) has sustained significant structural damage to the front one-third of the building; the rear two-thirds of the building appears to be intact. Parts of the interior are still inaccessible for safety reasons due to the structural damage sustained. Structural and electrical engineers are en route.
There is standing water in the basement and on every floor. The fire department will assist with pumping water out of basement.

There is no commercial power connectivity to the equipment due to breaker and switch equipment damage. Teams are currently working to de-energize all systems.

Two 850kW generators are en route with an ETA of 21:00 CT. A chiller is also en route with no ETA available at this time. The parking lot adjacent to the building (opposite the damaged side) has been secured to stage the generators. Once the generators arrive, teams will determine if it is safe to wire the generators tonight due to the sustained building damage and water in the building.
In addition, TEMA (Tennessee Emergency Management Agency) is volunteering two 1 megawatt generators to support recovery.

A SATCOLT has been positioned approximately a block and a half from the NSVLTNMT building and is up and taking traffic to aid in communication with those performing restoration. The next update will be issued at approximately 21:00 CT, unless there is a significant change in status.

Previous Status: As of 14:30 CT: There are multiple Battery on Discharge (BOD) conditions in the Nashville, TN Main (NSVLTNMT) Central Office (CO). The conditions observed are related to an explosion in downtown Nashville, that occurred near an AT&T building. The office affected supports several critical services including VOLTE, 3G/4G, TDM Switching, BVOIP services, Uverse/Data Services, 911 Routing, ESINET-911, and certain Enterprise Business Services. This event is affecting Mobility Services, 911 Services, TDM Voice Services, Data services and DirecTV channels in the area. There are seven (7) battery plants on discharge and voltages continue to drop. There are high temperature conditions due to HVAC systems failure and there is also water flooding the basement.

Technicians and contractors from ATS, TFS Power and CRE have gained access to the office and are currently assessing the damage and developing service restoration and building repair plans.

Additional resources and contractors have been dispatched to the area to assist, as needed. The AT&T National Disaster Recovery team has been engaged and is sending multiple SAT COLTs to the affected area. A working bridge has been established and teams continue to assess the situation and prepare for any restoration efforts that may be necessary. The next update will be at approximately 17:30 CT, unless there is a significant change in status.

Talking to coworkers apparently half of middle Tennessee has no cell or internet service.

They’re right. Reports of no att Internet from bowling green to Chattanooga and I think parts of Atlanta. Verizon cell service is good but I don’t think att’s is.

Mines still out and I heard att just gained access to the building again about an hour ago.

I finally have phone service today here in Lexington. Haven't had any since all this shite went down. Internet worked on phone via wifi obviously but no texts or calls until now. Just got a flood of Xmas well wishes.

So, I guess that's some positive news on them getting things fixed and back up and running front. Not sure how far out of Nashville elsewhere this affected, but I can speak personally to it impacting us in Lexington.

Wut. They caught the Boston bombers by releasing pictures of suspicious people before they caught them.

My suggestion was an "Operation Northwoods "- like mission staged by the CIA

To piggyback on this, Timothy McVeigh was caught like an hour and a half later for a traffic violation north of Stillwater. But yeah it took a day or two to actually connect the dots as I recall.

I assume by now they know the owner of the RV. My guess is they aren't releasing information while sorting it all out.
