I think it has something to do with the government, it was done on Christmas day knowing it wouldn't get as much attention as it would any other day.. And now they just want the story to go away and no one ask anymore questions.

Put me down for:
Terrorist planning on moving vehicle into downtown. Good guys got word and firefight ensued in the street.
Feds were scared to move vehicle, so they did a "controlled detonation" early in the AM when nobody was on street.
Announcement was also from feds to keep people away from vehicle before ignition.

They’re right. Reports of no att Internet from bowling green to Chattanooga and I think parts of Atlanta. Verizon cell service is good but I don’t think att’s is.
Mines still out and I heard att just gained access to the building again about an hour ago.

The early reports of gun shots must be false now? Nothing from the police on that, 6 officers responded and all I’ve seen is that they spent their time evacuating people.

My broadband provider just posted an update on their Facebook page about the outage. Not a lot of information other than to say they’re working with AT&T and maybe service will be back later today or tomorrow.

Some speculation the gun shots were done by suspect to wake everyone up and get police there to help clear the area.
Could’ve been piped in through speakers, fired into the air, or blanks.
It’s clear the overwhelming intention was to avoid loss of human life. Begs the question what the frick the point was. I guess the grid attack makes most sense.
