I’m driving next to a guy today who was going 75 in a 70. We pass 2 police cruisers and continue going for about 3 miles when one of those cruisers comes flying up at what looked like 95mph out of nowhere and pulls that guy over.

The police cruiser caught him within 2 minutes and he was going 75. Pulled him over and began the citation process. How does a police cruiser driving to for 3-4 miles at 90+ mph (to catch him) How is that making the roads safer?

If there are no messages on the highway to read, there are fewer distracted drivers?

They probably mean text messages.

The cops can't catch them if they go the same speed or slower.

I once had a cop back up into traffic almost cause a wreck to pull me over because I didn't have a brake tag. I had just got the car.
He then wrote up I didn't use a blinker which was a lie. Pissed me off .

Speeding ticket fines = money to improve roads.

What I’m wondering is how stupid do you have to be to pass a cop while going 75 when the speed limit is 70? He deserves a ticket for being a dumbass.

It’s not.

Nothing about speeding tickets at low speeds like that is about safety.

I assume the cops were stopped on the side of the highway. It’s not like the passed him in the adjacent lane while the cop was doing 70.

I hardly ever see a cop on the side of the interstate pull anyone over. Hell I passed a trooper hiding behind a hill going 79 in a 70 on the way to Austin and he didn’t do anything.

You aren't driving La. roads then. Speeding tickets go through so many crooked politicians hands there's not any left for roads. Left hanging with a past due bill for roads is more like it.
