Although not true for the vast majority today, you can't argue these schools didn't become popular because of desegregation.

Too bad there’s not more people like you who believe the past is the past and don’t care who went to which HS 30 years ago

It’s a special time regardless if you go to public or private school. I really haven’t experienced anyone bragging about their high school besides sports but a lot of times education is what you make of it.

But you ignore all the others that said it isn't. You're just in here looking to confirm your opinion.

Why didn't you just say what you thought from the get go? Too scared?

My grandma retired from the school system a few yrs after it started. She said it was a huge mess.

My wife went to public schools and she told me many horror stories about what went on, on the transfer busses.

She said they would have HS kids on the same busses with young middle school and elementary school age kids....and let your mind do the rest of the thinking.....

So people living in small towns that have normal schools and few ghetto kids have to send them to private school?

I think in most small towns the public schools are used by the white kids.

From the get go I said I didn’t wanna step on any toes and just wanted to know why there were so many private schools in a smallish size stage. I knew the ones who went private would be all pissy and quick to jump and attack

You have zero room to talk about racism.

Oklahoma is pretty much the state equivalent of “private schools”.

This is like Adolf calling someone else anti-Semitic.

This has nothing to do with Oklahoma. I just wanted to get views and opinions on my topic. I figured it would turn this way though. People are very defensive.

Yea.

Most minorities in Oklahoma have to have a reservation first.

But of course. It's very obvious.

Let me put it this way with a hypothetical:
You have two choices of schools: 1. An all white public school or 2. a majority African American private religious (your denomination) school.

I'm quite certain which choice most would select.

What are you, 12 years old? Trust me, MS has far far more private schools. I know all 3 states very well, professionally and personally.
