Why in the hell are you going to that HEB if you don't live in the area?

Yeah, that’s frustrating, but this right here:

quote:

Finally make it into the store, right when I enter, some person moving 0.1 mph crosses the entrance basically cutting me off from entering, they stop and casually look around, and talk to a friend, have to wait 30 seconds for them to cross as I can't get around

Just kindly say, “excuse me, may I get by?” Problem solved.

Go to Kroger off Buffalo Speedway. You’re welcome.

Life got instantly better when I ditched the Dunlavey HEB.

you spent almost 2 hours going to the grocery store and then wasted more time writing this post. you also passed at least 5 other grocery stores in the process of driving across town to go to montross.

I was told by a friend they had live crawfish at Montrose location. HEB varies by location on when they serve crawfish and San Felipe one did not have it. You can by loose crawfish at HEB and really nowhere else in the city, you have to buy by sack elsewhere. I don't want to spend $200 buying full sack, so went to buy 10 lb there. Turns out friend lied, and they dont have until Super Bowl wknd.

They had a delay or blamed it on the weather.

Galleria/Post Oak area, I exited 610N off Westheimer and went West. Midtown, I would've just taken a right out of Montrose HEB onto Alabama and took it all the way East 10 min or less.

Stop going to HEB. They are always crowded, overrated etc. Central Market is good but then you have to deal with old biddy bitches all around.

Better advice, order grocery pickup at HEB and avoid the chaos inside. Central Market is the overrated store.

The 2 worse driving experiences I have in Houston are trying to exit 59S onto 610N. It is always a line of 100+ cars unless you're driving after 10 PM.

The other is right after taking that exit and merging onto 610N between 59 and I-10. I've yet to maintain a speed above 10 mph on 610N btwn 59 and I-10 between the hours of 8 AM to 9 PM. It is average 25-30 minutes to make the 4 mile drive.

I hear I-45 North of Downtown, and South of the airport is bad. It apparently ranks Top 5 in the US for most deaths on a 1 mile stretch of road in the entire US per year, but that's where the ghetto is. Really all of Houston city limits is ghetto besides West of Downtown. Within the city limits and not suburbs, North, East, and South Houston is all ghetto. I have no reason to reach Jose or Jamal and race Dodge Chargers which is what is off of I-45 in that area.

This is EXACTLY why I started having 99% of what I buy delivered.

Even if there's a glitch in the delivery it is light years better than having to deal with what you describe which is sadly too often.

The cost is a wash even with the subscription fee.

It is the way.

Not everyone wants to commute for an hour and a half a day for public schools

That’s a bit exaggerated. From any given part of the city you can be in a solid burb within 35-50 mins with traffic or even less depending where you work.

Commute aside why live in be middle of an over populated city? Sounds miserable

Whoever in the city thought to put 1 lane from 59 South exit onto I-610 North, and 2 lanes form 59 South exit onto I-610 South is a horrible planner. Not kidding when I say the amount of cars that go 610N is 100x amount of cars going 610S at the exit, yet it has 1/2 the lanes. Luckily, I immediately exit 610N onto Westheimer exit, so I don't have to deal with further death trap of cars moving 1 mph on 610N from Hwy 59 4 miles up to I-10. The drive from US Hwy 59 to I-10 via 610 North, will take you on a good day 20 minutes to move 4 miles. All in all, this took me around 1 hr 50 minutes to get a few groceries. This is the Montrose HEB off Alabama. I'm sure other Houston residents will know the clusters here

It’s not Houston’s fault you passed by several better HEBs to go to the smallest and busiest

I know everyone has their own rules when it comes to crawfish, but its best to wait until March to eat them. When you say mini crawfish boil.. I bet it was mini crawfish.

You would rather waste your life sitting in traffic on 45 or 10?

That is more miserable than the city.

Find a walkable neighborhood and life is so much better.

Suburbs are cringe and should be torched or at the very least heavily taxed to pay for the burden they place on the infrastructure that they currently are not paying for.

Us city bros are tired of subsidizing your life.
