not if it is a liberal group doing it to gin up fake controversy

All sorts of "hate crimes" have ultimately proven to be faked.

So the dude has an overall good point, I think anyway, but doesn't convey it cohesively and the stickers were a dumb idea. They don't make sense.

Anyway, the gentrification, sterilization... and corporatization of Austin's overrated "coolness" has been ongoing for many years now. East Austin is seen by many as the last remnants of old Austin.

The guy is a loon. Real estate speculation is not a race issue, minorities are granted the same luxuries and protected by the Feds to speculate any market they may desire.

I'm shocked he wasn't back here gloating about that to sfp and chastising his preedited post.

In Austin, this issue transcends race. It's really about the city's soul, in that Austin was once a city little bigger than a town that was cheap, kinda rundown, and filled with genuine weirdos and old hippies. Now it is a big city, it's clean, it's lilly white, it's full of skyscrapers, it's unafordable, and people there aren't really "weird" anymore, they're all yupppies. I tend to prefer that actually, but there are a LOT of people who mourn the loss of old Austin and bemoan the fact (and it's true) that everything that was once authentic is now corporate.

I certainly don't question the authenticity of the guy in video. The rebuttal is every major metropolitan area at some point will experience growing pains in some direction. Be happy it's this direction vs the opposite.
