Lots of good suggestions and I would add two.

Team VTAC. That is Kyle Lamb's podcast. Former CAG guy, firearms instructor, and owns Viking Tactical. He is pretty highly respected, has a good sense of humor and covers a variety of subjects. The only negative is he is pretty sporadic about releasing new episodes.

Tactical Rifleman is a good YouTube channel. Retired special forces sergeant major. Covers a lot of
subjects related to shooting and preparedness. Also does live streams once or twice a week.

Jocko wakes up his alarm clock every morning at 4:30am.

frick man, I can’t thank you enough for posting these suggestions. Episode 001 of Shawn Ryan’s podcast may have just help me tremendously with personal shite I’m going through. Although I’ve done nowhere near the shite that Mike Glover has, I transitioned from doing some things in the military and got out in 2010. Since then, I’ve taken a few different occupations trying to find the same level of excitement and importance of the position/unit I had previously, but have psychologically struggled with the fact that nothing may ever come close to that. As an adrenaline/danger junkie, coming to grips with knowing that you experienced the highlight of your occupational career in your early 20s is frickin hard to accept. Not here to measure dicks (I promise you I’d lose) but I have some unique experiences that I thought qualified me for some high level government agencies. I applied and went through the entire process for 3 high level, well-known agencies, but none of them worked out for various reasons. I even attempted to go back into the military as an Officer, but MEPS didn’t clear me because I’m 50% disabled and probably should be 70-80%. So for the last 10 years, I’ve been rejected by all the occupations I’ve ever wanted to do.

Coming to terms with getting older, slower, fatter, arthritis in my hands causing pain with gripping a firearm (in my early fricking 30s) combined with Covid has put me in a dark place. To hear his story about his battle with nearly committing suicide because of basically boredom really hit me hard. This dude is a frickin alpha, even in the SF world, and has been in that dark place. It’s really validating to hear those guys willing to say those things because a lot of us can’t talk about this kind of shite. His willingness to talk about something many prior doods struggle with, which is knowing that we’ve been to the top of the mountain and it’s likely we’ll never get back. Tough pill to swallow. frickin can’t say thanks enough for suggesting that podcast. That really helped me psychologically. Got the best workout I’ve had this year after watching that. Depression is fricked, and climbing out is frickin hard.

I listened to Cleared Hot last night and it was pretty interesting. They take a lot of user questions and answer them pretty candidly.

I liked his ability to be honest and explain the parts of that life he didn’t enjoy. Created a real perspective.
