But when Ortiz denied stealing the money and asked to see the video evidence, her bosses at Chipotle declined. Instead, the company destroyed the video evidence, said Fresno attorneys Warren Paboojian and Jason Bell, who represent Ortiz in a wrongful termination case she brought against the fast-food giant.

If Chipotle was that stupid, I have zero sympathy.

What’s wrong with this country is lifetime professional claimants and payouts like this.

She's a mother of 9 who filed 4 workers comps claims for injuries stemming from carpal tunnel as the manager of a chipotle.

You think she's a role model citizen?

She is Hispanic and married

Her kids are likely due to being a practicing Catholic

Go look in the other thread that says having a lot of kids in a married relationship isn’t trashy.....

Married with a stable job raising a family in a 2 parent environment.

But she's a piece of shite for using protections given to her in her employment.

I feel like you're just mad she got $8mil and trying to justify your anger.

What the frick does this mean?

Where in the catholic doctrine does it say continually procreate with reckless abandon until menopause?

Apparently the job wasn't that good if she was constantly getting injured and having leave and medical problems.

You added the reckless abandon to fit your narrative, but Catholics are known to not use contraceptive as much because of the church's beliefs so that leads to more children.

There are plenty of non-contraceptive ways to not get pregnant. I don't subscribe to your list of excuses to absolve these morons from personal responsibility and reckless ignorance

Are people supposed to just keep injuries to themselves so people like you don't call them asshats?

Is that happening here?

ETA - She downsized her home and took on a second job. That seems like someone who is taking responsibility for their actions, no?

You keep saying this without any evidence to support it.

$8 million in damages

If she made 50,000 a year for being the manager of that chipotle, and she became manager at 35, and the average life span of a human is 79 years and you retire at 65, then she just won 5 and a half lifetimes worth of salary.

That's insane. Why wouldn't the maximum penalty be capped at 1.5 million: 50,000 for 30 years?

You are incorrectly assuming she would stay a manager for the rest of her life. It is not entirely impossible to say that she could one day raise to the level of CEO. It has happened in other fast food companies before where a manager has attained that role. It is her potential to earn over the next 30 years.

She should've gave a bunch of the kids up for adoption or made them get jobs. Lazy arse parents are a rampant problem in this country

I hurt myself rolling my eyes so hard at that one. Yes. That is entirely impossible.

Yeah so fricking lazy.

You have an axe to grind with her because of the money she got, and now you're just being absurd with it.

Cool. Still waiting for the evidence that she ignored personal responsibility, is lazy, etc.
