If they framed her for a crime, 8M is not enough. What’s so hard to understand about that. That could resort in jail time, legal fees, failure to gain future employment, unable to pay current bills, rent/mortgage, damage to credit report , etc.

Chipotle wasn't pursuing charges against her.

Bro, I read it. She did indeed file a WC claim for carpal tunnel for working as a manager at Chipotle. Again, I am not buying that.

Of course directing her to lie to her physician was a dumb move.

Also, I am WC expert. Quite literally.

I mean her claim of why she was fired.

The injury claim isn't stated other than this:

quote:

job-related injury to her wrist caused by carpal tunnel syndrome.

Which isn't saying "working at Chipotle gave me carpal tunnel" like the post I replied to stated.

Also ,she was currently making 70k when she was fired

The jurors awarded 1.97 million for lost past and future wages, and 6 million for the bullshite Chipotle put her through

You seem to not understand what a "claim" is as it relates to workers' compensation. I am talking about filing an actual claim, through the workers' comp system, and Chipotle's insurer.

You know, an insurance claim.

Cool but you are clearly not a reading expert. It says

quote:

job-related injury to her wrist caused by carpal tunnel syndrome.

That doesn't say that Chipotle gave her carpal tunnel. In fact it says nothing about how she got carpal tunnel. Just that she has it and injured her wrist at work.

Either way, they tried to make her like about it so she could return to work. She refused and was fired.

I understand it just fine.

The claim, as stated in the OP doesn't say Chipotle gave her carpal tunnel.

holy frick.

Listen, she filed a workers' comp claim stating she developed carpal tunnel while working at Chipotle. Workers' compensation claims are only for injuries or illness that occurred on the job. She filed a claim, period.

Because I'm not assuming something that isn't stated there?

THAT IS LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN FILE A WC CLAIM

IF YOU ARE INJURED AT WORK

So they fired her without being able to prove the cause.

Funny thing is they didn't really need a cause. Chipotle F'ed up by saying there was a reason which was fabricated. If they'd just said "$626 is missing and your the manager so it's ultimately your responsibility, regardless of who took it" there would be no issue.

That's not what it says so unless you found a copy of the claim somewhere...

Have you read this somewhere else other than the article?

Yeah no shite dude.

That still doesn't someone insert the words "working here gave her carpal tunnel" into the article.

$8 million is nothing for Chipotle.

Did she deserve that much? No. But you can't just punish them for a smaller amount.

That's a terrible excuse.

Should we penalize regular citizens more based on their income? What if your parking ticket was $5,000 because "That's nothing for an OT baller"

Thoughts like that are the reason LA has the worst insurance rates in the country. Charge them more because they are Chipotle and their insurance goes up, the price of their burger goes up, and the end user loses.
