I've thought about this happening to my great, great grandfather's tombstone. It has the Southern Cross etched into it and it states the unit he was in and has CSA across the bottom. He is buried in the church cemetery in a small town.

The fact those flags are there is a huge red flag. Pun intended. Someone crushed some cinder blocks but you couldn't tell what that was on their own so they put little flags down to make it look like confederate grave sites. If someone actually did this they would have taken the flags.
